Converting a BBQ to Natural Gas

Remember to check the Specification of the BBQ you buy, this one is a Jumbuck from Bunnings, it is NOT approved for conversion to Natural Gas.

I had this question come in from a 'J' who lives in Melbourne. I dont know the regs in Victoria but surely this one is ok for a natural Gas BBQ?

As we are NOT service Agents for Electrolux, Everdure and Beefeater. We are no longer able to service their Barbeques and related products.

I have had a few calls from clients about, well you have guessed it, converting their BBQ to Natural Gas, here is a brief 'check list' again..

1/. Conversions can only be carried out by licensed Gas Fitters. DO NOT do it yourself!

Hi Guys, just a note from me, if you do have a BBQ that you would like to see if it is approved for conversion to Natural Gas the following information would really help us:

The make / model / manufacturer

As most of you will gather Bunning's sell a range of Barbeques under the 'Jumbuck' and 'Matador' brand, I get a lot of questions regarding converting these Barbeques, so I want to get a few basic questions asked before you ring us.

Rules change all the time, but remember that NG conversion rules are there for your protection. Make sure that you get a licenced and 'experienced' gas fitter to do the conversion.

Make sure that you check to see whether your BBQ you are going to buy is able to be and approved for natural Gas use. Every day I get calls asking me if a certain BBQ can, check with your supplier or Barbitec before you buy. Ross Y
