Matador Barbeques - Bunnings Brand

24th Jul 2013

As most of you will gather Bunning's sell a range of Barbeques under the 'Jumbuck' and 'Matador' brand, I get a lot of questions regarding converting these Barbeques, so I want to get a few basic questions asked before you ring us. This is necessary to save you and me going backwards and forwards when we require further information.

First of all, the Natural Gas Kit that Bunning's sell is NOT the kit that will convert every Barbeque on the planet! It is a GASMATE kit and primarily should only be used for GasMate manufactured Barbeques under the SMG or Sitro Brand, although the hose and Reg are approved for NG conversions the injectors provided will ONLY suit their own Barbeques.

Secondly, Matador and or Jumbuck Barbeques are made by lots of different manufacturers. This means that you need to have the right manufacturers conversion kit for the right Barbeque......

Here are some questions you should ask.......

1/. Is this Barbeque APPROVED for Natural Gas Conversion?

2/. Double check physically on the BBQ to find the Data / Compliance plate, this will tell you if it is approved for NG conversion. Don't rely on the Staff......They may not be sure.

3/. If Yes..Where do I get the conversion kit from? (Remember the Gasmate kit injectors only suit Gasmate / SITRO / SMG made Barbeques) Note: We can make up kits as service agents of the manufacturers.

4/. Before you call us please get the following information so that we can give you the correct advice and costing to convert.

a. What is the Make and model of the BBQ...A Jumbuck 'what'? or a Matador 'what'?

b. Who is the manufacturer? ( It is NOT Bunning's!) Is it Genesis, SMG, Garth, Sitro....etc.,

c. Does the compliance / data plate have 'Natural Gas' shown anywhere on it? Take a photo if you are not sure.

d. email us the photo with your 'Ask A Question' or service request'

Any other info would be useful.........Ross Y

Hi, I recently purchased a Matador BBQ and had the Gasmate conversion kit fitted. Its a Matador 2 B323-1, Artiste made by Garth Australia. Compliance plate approved NG. Gas fitter tells me I need to change the injectors and looking at compliance plate info NG are larger than LPG.

Problem is I dont know where to get NG injectors from or who to fit so BBQ will work with correct flame output.

Cheers
John

It depends on who manufactured it and whether it is approved for NG use, have a look at the compliance plate. Ross
