The process of converting a barbeque to natural gas is a skilled professional task, do not risk doing it yourself! It must be carried out by licensed gas fitters.
Under current WA regulations all Trolley Barbeques that have moveable castors or wheels MUST be chained to a wall in order to prevent 'strain' on the flexible Gas hose, this is normally attached to the BBQ and wall by only 80-85% of the hose length.
Remember that All the Barbeques listed below are NOT APPROVED for INDOOR USE
BARBEQUES GALORE - most but not all of their BBQ products are approved for NG conversion and includes Turbo Range (Grand Turbo, Select, Elite and Classic), Cordon Bleu, Beefmaster, Downunder prior to 2010 is approved for NG conversion.
***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***
The current series GRAND TURBO (2015/6) is approved for conversion, however due to the MJ output (high) in the 6 burner, it must have two supplies 3 and 3.
This BBQ (6 burner) must therefore have two Natural Gas supplies if using bayonet connections. a dual bayonet cannot be used, the two bayonets must have seperate 'feeds' from the mains or pressure may be reduced. Copper piping may be used and split connections used but a minimum of 3/4inch / 20mm is recommended to be used depending on the pipe sizing, presure and how many gas appliances are being used.
Note: There is no hard and fast rule here, each installation must be accessed individually by a licensed and qualified Gas Fitter.
THEY CANNOT BE CONVERTED SEPERATELY i.e. one on LPG and one on Natural Gas as they have been manufactured as one unit, ring us for further details or talk to your local Barbeques Galore store.
Barbeques Galore Strada BBQ is NOT APPROVED for NG conversion
2010/11 Downunder, Billabong, Cucina, Patiomaster are NOT APPROVED for NG conversion.
2013 Cucina and Ziegler & Brown turbo range and Ziegler & Brown single / twin & triple grills are approved to run on Natural Gas. Note: The Ziegler & Brown 'Grills' are normally a 'factory conversion' they can be converted 'on-site' or in our workshop.
SUNBEAM INNOVO - Models 4100, 5100 are NOT APPROVED for NG conversion
- Models, 4110,5110,6110 are approved for NG conversion
MASPORT - Their range 2006-2011 onwards cannot be converted, some older ones can but kits may not be available.
Masport 210 range from 2012 onwards, some of these Barbeques particularly the Grande Range are approved for conversion but require a manifold / gas valve change, ring us or Masport to make sure. They can be an expensive conversion to NG.
FOCUS GRAND HALL & GRAND HALL - Grange, Grillmaster, Connoisseur, Jamie Durie Series (KMart) and Master Kitchen Opus 4 are approved for NG conversion
JACKAROO BRAND - manufactured by Focus Grand Hall, Professional series SS-SX-SZ, Platinum, Regal, Tuscany, Titanium, Jackaroo Elite 6 are approved for NG conversio
JACKAROO BRAND - by Arlec, Jackaroo Burwood BBQs are NOT APPROVED for conversion
JACKAROO BRAND - by Select Distributors named Jackaroo Wentworth, Flinders and Mitchell are NOT APPROVED for conversion
JACKAROO BRAND - Miscellaneous - Bayfair is NOT approved for Natural Gas Conversion
JAMIE DURIE BBQS - These BBQ's are also made by different Manufacturers and some are sold by Big W - Jamie Durie outdoor bistro 6 burner bbq from big w is NOT APPROVED for NG Conversion.
HEATLIE - mostly approved for NG conversion (mostly factory converted)
IMPORTANT! DUE TO PROBLEMS OBTAINING NG KITS FOR APPROVED MATADOR / JUMBUCK BARBEQUES WE DO NOT SUPPLY NG KITS BUT CAN SOMETIMES ADVICE WHERE THEY CAN BE PURCHASED FROM IF THE BBQ IS APPROVED FOR CONVERSION.
BUNNINGS JUMBUCK & MATADOR BRAND - these Barbeques are sometimes sold with the words 'CAN BE CONVERTED TO NATURAL GAS' ..Problem is that the NG jets may not be easily available. we can only supply jets to barbeques that are from a known manufacturer where we are their service agents.
IT IS ALWAYS ADVISABLE BEFORE YOU BUY A BBQ FROM BUNNINGS (WHERE IT IS APPROVED FOR NG CONVERSION) THAT YOU GET THEM TO SUPPLY THE NG KIT AT THE SAME TIME!!
NOTE: 'Jumbuck' & 'Matador' is a Bunnings Brand name and not all are approved for NG conversion.
MATADOR branded barbeques will have the details on the compliance / Data plate showing if it is approved for conversion to NG. The kits that are available from Bunnings fr the conversion are a generic kit and as such may NOT have the correct approved jets for the conversion.

Note: If you buy one of these modules and you wish it to be NG converted please make sure that the units are NOT fitted together when assembled and the 'backs' of the units are away from any Walls. This will make it easier for the conversions to take place.

ELECTROLUX - fairly new to the BBQ market, most of these are approved to be converted to Natural Gas. Kits can be obtained direct from Electrolux.
EVERDURE - The Everdure Classic range, Neo range, "E" series range are approved for NG conversion, including e2go BBQ, (some of these NG conversions however require a complete gas valve & manifold change)
- The Everdure Norfolk is approved for NG conversion although some earlier models, prior to 2006 will require a complete manifold change
- The Everdure Ashburton is approved for NG conversion although some earlier models prior to 2004 will require a manifold change
-The Everdure Pilbara is NOT APPROVED for conversion
-The Sundance, Red Rock range are NOT APPROVED for conversion
Note that we cannot order Natural Gas kits for Everdure as they are considered an Accessory and not a spre part. They can only be ordered from a retailer. We can however do the conversion for you.
KLEENMAID - Barbeques - Kleenmaid went into liquidation recently, if you have a BBQ that was manufactured by Kleenmaid and you are not sure if it has or has not been converted correctly please contact us for further information, it is illegal to modify the BBQ without a proper NG conversion kit unless approval is given by Energy Safety in WA or the appropriate governing gas department in your state.
BEEFEATER - Signature series - Most are approved for NG Conversion
Note: Beefeater manufacture a built - in Barbeque that has 'Flame Failure' fitted .This is an additional safety feature but is NOT approved for indoor use.
Beefeater has recently been purchased by Electrolux and we recommend servicing be carried out by them.
LIFESTYLE BBQs - Most are approved for NG Conversion
BARBEQUES BOUGHT OVERSEAS OR ONLINE - Most Barbeques bought from Overseas are not approved to be used in Australia and most if not all are NOT approved to run on Natural Gas
PATIO HEATERS - Most are NOT APPROVED for conversion
Note: However, Barbeques Galore manufactured a Maxiheat Patioheater circa 2006 and was approved for conversion. Although not available now.

Note that these kits have Natural Gas Jets in them that will only fit and are approved for certain Barbeques. They are not a 'generic' kit. Check with us first to see if this NG kit will be suitable for your BBQ.

Note that these kits also have specific jet sizes in them and therefore are only certified for use on certain Barbeques, mostly the ones that they manufacture themselves like the Turbo, Beefmaster, Cucina, Ziegler & Brown, Cordon Bleu etc.,
Pricing: Most kits come complete and it depends on whether you want your BBQ built-in or on a bayonet connection. Some kits are provided just for the BBQ and an extra "kit" is required to connect it to a bayonet. We can do the conversion for you and charge on a "time" basis as some BBQS are more complex to convert than others, (Perth, WA Metro Only).
Availability: Provided they are still made we can supply most NG conversion Kits direct anywhere in Australia our prices normally include P&P. Remember though you will need a licensed gas fitter to do the conversion for you.
Tip: If you are thinking of converting your BBQ at a later stage when you buy it for a little extra money it is worth buying the NG kit there and then as due to the ever increasing numbers of Barbeques on the market, availability of the Kit at a later stage may be a problem.
