Installing Natural Gas in an Alfresco area

5th Oct 2017

Hi and welcome to my new website and new blog, all done through my mates at Spring Web Solutions…...!
In this site you will see that it has changed a lot from the old one and has more specific content and is a lot easier to read.
Consultancy, Reviews and Maintenance are the three topics on the site and the three Barbitec will be concentrating on…

For example, one call I have had recently refers to a BBQ that the customer wanted to install on Natural Gas in his Alfresco area, now remember that the area MUST be 55% fully open, no café blinds, shutters, bi-fold doors, patio doors, and NO shade blinds*!!

It doesn’t matter if you put them up when using your BBQ, these are a definite NO NO in these areas.

This customer has spent a lot of money on his area only to find that it is now classed as an indoor area, he only has 25% open.

Most Barbeques are for outdoor use only, that means OUTDOORS not indoors. They must be approved / certified for indoor use.

Some Barbeques have ‘flame failure’ this is just an additional safety feature, it does not mean that they can be used indoors.

Please check with us if you are not sure if you can have your BBQ installed in your Alfresco area as different rules and regulations apply for indoor approved Barbeques.

A small amount of dollars spent with our consulting service will save you thousands in the future!

Call us on 08 9309 5716 or book a visit to make sure!

*WA Energy Safety has ruled that areas where shade blinds are fitted and where an Outdoor BBQ is installed on Natural Gas are not Compliant and will be treated as an ‘indoor area’
